Introduction of the forum:
The 2017 Global Cities Forum seeks to explore and to discuss the emerging challenges confronting urban governance in global cities. It offers a good opportunity to exchange recent research findings on the theme ‘Global Cities, Smart Governance’. The forum welcomes contributions on the following topics, and is open to a variety of theoretical perspectives and methodological approaches. 

•	Smart city governance and big-data applications
•	Sustainability and urban environmental governance 
•	Urban safety and urban emergency management 
•	Transport planning and governance in mega-cities/regions
•	Urban social changes and challenges to local governance 


Abstract
Please submit an abstract (approximately 250 words) to the forum Email: globalforum at 163.com, by no later than 30th July 2017. Successful applicants will be contacted by 15th August 2017. Please indicate the institution, address, and contact number of the presenter and co-authors (if there is any). 


Full Paper and Publication
Submissions of a full paper are suggested. Submitted papers should not have been previously published, and should not be currently under consideration for publication anywhere else. Accepted papers in this forum will be recommended to a special issue of Journal of Cleaner Production by Elsevier or Journal of Urban Affairs by the Urban Affairs Association after double-blind peer-reviews. Please follow the respective style guidelines (Journal of Cleaner Production: https://www.journals.elsevier.com/journal-of-cleaner-production, Journal of Urban Affairs: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/journal/10.1111/(ISSN)1467-9906/homepage/ForAuthors.html). It is also expected to have an edited volume of conference papers for publication. More publication information will be available during the forum.
