Hei,
Tervetuloa mukaan Smart Cities in Smart Regions 2016 konferenssiin 10.–12.5.2016 Lahden Sibeliustalolle.
Konferenssi tarjoaa huipputilaisuuden verkostoitua paikallisten ja kansainvälisten aluekehitys- ja korkeakoulutoimijoiden kanssa. Tarkoituksena on tuoda akateemiset ja käytännön osaajat yhteen jakamaan tietoa aluekehityksen ratkaisuista sekä rakentamaan yhteistä visiota tulevaisuuden älykkäästä kaupungista ja alueesta. Tapahtuma rakentuu pääpuhujien ja asiantuntijoiden puheenvuoroista sekä kohdevierailuista, jotka jakautuvat kolmeen pääteemaan: Tulevaisuuden aluekehitys, Asukkaat ja kestävä kaupunkikehitys sekä Älykäs teollisuus ja innovaatio.

Aluekehityksen tulevaisuuden näkymiin liittyen ohjelmasta löytyy mm. seuraavat kiinnostavat sessiot:

·         Cities and Regions in Value Creation (A3)

·         Sustainable and Innovative Urban Planning (B1)

·         Digital Living (B3)

·         Living Lab Activities (B5)


Oman esityksesi voit saada mukaan jättämällä abstraktin hakuun 31.1.2016 mennessä. Haussa on niin tieteellisiä tutkimuksia kuin käytännön kehityshankkeita ja yritysesimerkkejä. Dear partners and colleagues,
Lahti University of Applied Sciences cordially invites You to join the first international Smart Cities in Smart Regions 2016 conference in Lahti on the 10-12 of May 2016. The Conference is organized by the Lahti University of Applied Sciences in co-operation with number of international, national and regional partners and operators. Esteemed keynote speakers will give deep insight and latest knowledge during the conference. The first Keynote will be given by Mr. Markku Markkula, President of the European Union Committee of the Regions.

The Conference offers an excellent meeting, networking and discussion forum and brings together thinkers, planners, practitioners, academics and experts from businesses, private and public sector government to share latest ideas, discuss products, processes and to debate issues and challenges around themes relating to the creation of more 'Smart Cities in Smart Regions'. Programme will include interesting and up to date keynotes, parallel and poster sessions, workshops and site visits. More keynote speakers will be announced shortly.

The main themes of the conference are:

·         Future Development of Regions

·         Citizens and Urban Sustainability

·         Smart Industry and Innovation


The call for proposals for oral presentations and posters in the mentioned topics is now open until 31st of January 2016. Alongside academic papers, also best practises and case studies are welcomed and they will be accepted according to a more practical criteria. We encourage you to submit abstracts of academically or practically focused proposals, best practices and cases. Theory and practice will be equally emphasised in the programme.

Furthermore, if you are interested in preparing, organizing and leading your own subtheme or workshop with your network, we would also appreciate receiving proposals for thematic workshops in the Smart Cities in Smart Regions 2016.
