Turun yliopisto  järjestää 11.–12.6. 2015 Turussa ARea15-konferenssin, jonka teemana on lisätty todellisuus kulttuurimatkailussa.

Konferenssi on tarkoitettu lisätyn todellisuuden tutkijoille ja hyödyntäjille sekä muille aiheesta kiinnostuneille, ja siihen kootaan esityksiä niin tutkijoilta kuin tekniikan soveltajilta, kuten museoilta, matkailukohteilta ja alan yrityksiltä. Erityisesti kategoriaan 2 kaivataan näkemyksiä ja käytännön kokemuksia lisätyn todellisuuden hyödyntämismahdollisuuksista eri aloilla.

Call for Papers/Presentations
- ARea15, The Fourth Finnish Augmented Reality Conference -

ARea15 is the fourth Finnish augmented reality conference, which gathers mixed reality researchers and practitioners from Finland, Scandinavia and all around the world together to present and to discuss the current state of the field. The special theme of this year event is the use of mixed reality in culture and travel.
Submission Categories
We invite interested researchers and practitioners to submit their contribution to the event in the following categories:
1) Research papers and experience reports for the ARea15 Workshop
ARea15 Workshop is meant for mixed reality research community. The submission process is two-phased: In the first phase, a two page extended abstract is submitted for the review and in the second phase the accepted authors submit a full paper. The extended abstract should include abstract, research method / case description section and results section. The final papers will be 6 - 12 pages long. The selected papers will be presented in the workshop and published in the event proceedings. An expo booth in the ARea15 Expo will also be reserved for the selected presenters if needed.
2) Case and application presentations for the main ARea15 Seminar
ARea15 Seminar is an event for everyone interested in the latest advancements in the mixed reality field. This year the special theme is the use of mixed reality in culture and travel. Presentations are proposed to the seminar by submitting two pages long summary of the presentation. The selected presentations will have 20 minutes time slot in the main seminar (15 min presentation + 5 min Q&A). Final presentation summaries will be published in the event proceedings. An expo booth in the ARea15 Expo will also be reserved for the selected presenters if needed.
3) Product and application demonstrations for the ARea15 Expo
ARea15 Expo gathers the latest mixed reality applications, solutions and real-life demos into one showroom. A one page proposal should include the brief description of the expo booth content and its connection to the conference theme.

We invite researchers and practitioners to submit on the topics of interest that include,

Mixed reality production tools and methods
Mixed reality technologies e.g.
Tracking techniques and high-accuracy positioning
Techniques for combining computer generated and real-life graphics
Mixed reality hardware
Design principles of mixed reality applications
Pedagogical aspects of mixed reality
User interfaces in mixed reality applications, mixed reality user experience
Case studies on the use of mixed reality e.g. in the following fields
Culture and travel
Pedagogy and teaching
Operative activities in industry
Modern user interfaces
Games and entertainment
Mixed reality related business models
Submission Details
Research papers, presentation summaries and expo proposal written in English are
welcome. In the first phase there are no strict typesetting guidelines. However, the final papers and presentation summaries should follow the Springer instructions for authors (see http://goo.gl/FNEFJO). The submitted papers should be original and not submitted or accepted by any other conference or journal.
Papers, presentation summaries and expo proposals should be submitted in the pdf format. The submission links will be available at the conference web site http://ar.utu.fi/area15/ on February 2, 2015. The workshop papers and the presentation summaries are published in the CEUR Workshop Proceedings series.
