XVI SUOMALAIS-VENÄLÄINEN ARKEOLOGISYMPOSIUMI lokakuussa 2019 Hämeenlinnassa
Suomalais-venäläisen arkeologian alan kysymyksistä ja tutkimuksista kiinnostuneet kokoontuvat yhteen jo 16. kerran yhteistyösymposiumiin teemalla Materiality and Objects: Multi-disciplinary Approaches to Archaeological Material and Contexts. Millaisia mahdollisuuksia jo talteen otetut, ”vanhat” kokoelmat tarjoavat? Mitä etuja ja tulevaisuudennäkymiä liittyy kehittyviin menetelmiin? Mitä uudenlaista tietoa menneisyyden kulttuurisista konteksteista löydetään, kun monitieteisistä aineistoanalyyseista edetään synteeseihin?
Symposiumi pidetään Hämeen linnan auditoriossa 10-11.10.2019. Esitelmäpäiviä täydentää ekskursiopäivä Hämeenlinnan ympäristössä 12.10.2019. Symposiumissa esitellään uutta tutkimusta Luoteis-Venäjällä ja Suomessa. Symposiumin työskentelykielenä on englanti.
Symposiumin ilmoittautuminen on avattu verkko-osoitteessa https://ssl.eventilla.com/xviarchaeologicalsymposium/FI.
Lämpimästi tervetuloa!

THE XVI FINNISH-RUSSIAN ARCHAEOLOGICAL SYMPOSIUM, October 2019, Hämeenlinna, Finland
The 16th Finnish-Russian Symposium focuses on the analyses of archaeological material in multi-disciplinary question framing and methodology. The theme of the symposium is Materiality and Objects: Multi-disciplinary Approaches to Archaeological Material and Contexts. We shall discuss about artefacts and organic material from archaeological contexts. The symposium covers all fresh archaeological and multi-disciplinary approaches. All periods of prehistory and early history are equally welcome. The contextualization of finds is understood in a broad meaning: subsistence and everyday life in prehistory and early history, ideologies and worldviews in ancient and more recent times, occasional events of the past like crises and disasters.
The symposium takes place in the Häme Castle, Hämeenlinna on Thursday 10th and Friday 11th October. In addition, there is a bus excursion to archaeological sites on Saturday 12th October. Working language of the symposium is English (with exception of 1-2 oral presentations in Russian or Finnish).
The registration is open. More information about the subject from our site https://ssl.eventilla.com/xviarchaeologicalsymposium/EN.
You are all very welcome!
Special researcher Päivi Maaranen, The Finnish Heritage Agency
