Marc Bloch – palkinnon vuoden 2015 haku

Euroopan Yliopistoinstituutin historian ja kulttuurin laitos on vuodesta 2009
alkaen myöntänyt parhaalle esimodernin ja modernin ajan  Eurooppaa
käsittelevälle pro gradulle kansainvälisen Marc Bloch – palkinnon.
Vuoden 2015 palkinnon hakuaika on käynnissä ja kilpailuun osallistuvan tulee
lähettää pro gradu –työnsä arvioitavaksi 01.11.2014 mennessä.  
 
Marc Bloch – palkintoa voivat hakea kaikki, joiden pro gradut käsittelevät
(1400- 2000 –lukujen )Euroopan historiaa tai eurooppalaisuutta. Marc Bloch –
palkintokomitea arvostaa tutkimuksia joiden kysymyksenasettelu, aihemaailma tai
menetelmä on ylikansallinen ja vertaileva.  Marc Bloch – palkinto on 3000
euroa ja se myönnetään palkitulle graduntekijälle Euroopan
yliopistoinstituutin juhlaseminaarissa Firenzessä.

Marc Bloch Prize in Early Modern and Modern European History (15th-21st
centuries)

Since year 2009 the Department of History and Civilization awards a biannual
prize of 3000 Euros to the author of the best new MA thesis in early modern,
modern or contemporary European history and in the history of Europe in the
world.

 

Marc Bloch (1886-1944) was one of the most influential historians of the
twentieth century. In keeping with two central aspects of his historical oeuvre,
the Department selects studies with an explicit comparative or transnational
perspective of a high scholarly historical nature. Research accuracy, innovation
and literary merit are important factors in the final selection.

 

The Marc Bloch Prize for 2015 will be awarded to the author of the best new MA
thesis in early modern or modern European history and in the history of Europe
in the world. In keeping with two central aspects of Marc Bloch’s historical
oeuvre, only studies with an explicit comparative or transnational perspective
will be considered. Submitted theses should be of a high scholarly historical
nature. Research accuracy, innovation and literary merit will be important
factors in the final selection.

 

Eligibility is limited to candidates holding an MA degree awarded in 2013 or
2014. EUI members are not eligible. Theses must be submitted by the original
author, and can be submitted in any European language. A prize of € 3.000 will
be awarded in a ceremony at the EUI in Florence. The winner of the prize will be
invited to give a talk onthe subject of her/his thesis.
