Finland in Comparison II

Venue: University of Tampere, Finland

Paper proposals due May 31, 2013 

The second meeting in the international seminar series Finland in Comparison
organized by the Finnish Centre of Excellence in Historical Research will
discuss comparative research of national histories.

Keynote Speakers:

Matthias Middell, University of Leipzig, Germany 
Anu Koivunen, University of Stockholm, Sweden 
Risto Alapuro, University of Helsinki, Finland

Call for Papers:

We welcome all papers related to the topic including case studies,
historiography and theoretical reflection. Presentations are not restricted to
Finnish history: we welcome also theoretical presentations problematizing
national histories and other papers dealing with methodological nationalism,
transnational history and global perspectives. 

Researchers interested in presenting a paper at the seminar are asked to send a
short abstract of no more than 300 words in English, Finnish or Swedish by May
31st, 2013 to the following email addresses:
