the Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies on the topic: “Children
and the State in England: from the Middle Ages to the Reformation”

Nicholas Orme, Emeritus Professor of history at Exeter University, is
a British historian specialising in the Middle Ages and Tudor periods,
with a particular interest in the history of children. He earned his
degrees from Magdalen College, Oxford, and has worked as a visiting
scholar at, among others, Merton College, Oxford, St. John's College,
Oxford, and the University of Arizona. His general field of research
is English history, especially religious, educational, cultural and
social history of the Middle Ages and the sixteenth century.
