University of Ireland, Galway

Dear all,

Classics at NUI Galway is pleased to invite applications for a fully
funded four-year PhD scholarship, starting in September 2022.

The PhD student will participate in a new team project directed by Dr
Pádraic Moran, investigating the role of manuscript glosses (interlinear
and marginal annotations) in practices of reading, education,
scholarship and knowledge transfer in the pre-modern world. It will
provide the opportunity for a PhD student to develop advanced research
skills in the transmission and reception of Late Antique and early
medieval Latin texts, as well as in early medieval Latin palaeography.

Full details here:
https://www.nuigalway.ie/classics/research/vacancies/

Application deadline: 15 July 2022. Enquiries welcome.

Regards,

Pádraic
