Dear colleagues -

You are cordially invited (with apologies for cross posting!) to the first fall lecture in the Center of Excellence in "Changes in Sacred Texts and Traditions" (CSTT) Lecture Series, to be held Thursday, 15 September from 16:15-18 in the Faculty Room of the Faculty of Theology (5th floor of Vuorikatu 3).

Amar Annus, Assistant Professor of the Hebrew Bible and Semitic Studies at the University of Tartu, will present:

"On How to Bridge the Gap between Ancient Creativity and Modern Neurobiology"

Changes in the literary, scholarly, religious and other traditions are always linked to creativity, to creative individuals and their contributions. In the ancient world, we can only study texts and artefacts, not the creative people themselves. However, modern neurobiology can help us to further understand which personality traits are often seen in people with high creativity so that with this knowledge in mind one can eventually get closer to real people behind the legends.

----------------
The purpose of the CSTT lecture series is to provide a forum for individual members and guests of the CSTT to communicate their research to one another, as well as to the larger community of ancient scholars at the University of Helsinki. We welcome all who are interested to attend!
