I forward an invitation to apply for a multidisciplinary course on late
antique Constantinople, organized by the section of classical archaeology at
Aarhus University in cooperation with the Swedish Institutes in Istanbul and
Rome. The course, which is both on bachelor and master level, will take
place in Istanbul in the summer of 2011 with English as teaching language,
and is open to applications from all countries and disciplines. Deadline for
applications is March 15, 2011. You can find more information about the

Jag vidarebefordrar en inbjudan att anmäla sig till en tvärvetenskaplig kurs
om det senantika Konstantinopel, organiserad av klassisk arkeologi vid Århus
universitet i samarbete med de svenska instituten i Istanbul och Rom.
Kursen, som ges både på bachelor- och master-nivå, genomförs i Istanbul
sommaren 2011 med engelska som undervisningsspråk och är öppen för
anmälningar från alla länder och ämnen. Deadline för ansökningar är den 15

Application is now open for:



Constantinople - Space and Representation in the late antique Metropolis



Study during the summer and meet national and international lecturers and
fellow students in the cosmopolitan city of Istanbul!



Constantinople - Space and Representation in the late antique Metropolis is
an intensive two week Summer School organized by the Section for Classical
Archaeology, Aarhus University in collaboration with the Swedish Research
Institutes in Istanbul (SRII) and Rome. It is held at the SRII and can
therefore take advantage of its setting in Istanbul to explore the city of
Constantinople and give the students a unique firsthand experience of the
late antique monuments. The Summer School will also present new and exciting
discoveries from the ongoing excavations in the city and its vicinity.



Teaching takes place at the SRII with daily excursions to famous sites and
new exciting excavations in the heart of modern day Istanbul.
