Dictatorship: Ancient and Modern, Helsinki 20-22.8 2009
CFP deadline April 30

Advanced doctoral students and postdoctoral scholars are warmly  
invited to propose papers within the theme ?Dictatorship: Ancient and  
Modern? to be presented during a three day summer school in Helsinki,  
August 20?22, 2009. For further details on the theme, please see the  
attached document.

The Ernst Cassirer Summer School forms part of the Ernst Cassirer  
professorship, funded by the Volkswagen Foundation and located at  
Swedish Collegium for Advanced Study (SCAS) in Uppsala. The current  
holder of the chair, Professor Wilfried Nippel, SCAS and the Helsinki  
Collegium for Advanced Studies together organize the Summer School.

Participants? expenses for travel, accommodation and meals during the  
days of the summer school will be covered.

Applicants should submit a brief CV and an abstract of the proposed  
paper. Applications should be sent by email to SCAS  
(cassirer at swedishcollegium.se) no later than April 30.
