Call for papers

International conference on

FRONTIERS IN COMPARATIVE METRICS

November 21-22, 2008, Tartu, Estonia

The Frontiers in Comparative Metrics conference will be held on 21th  
-22th of November 2008, in Tallinn and in 23th of November, in Tartu,  
Estonia. The organizers of the conference are the Department of
Semiotics and the Chair of the Classical Philology at the University   of
Tartu and the Department of the Cultural Theory at the Tallinn  
University. The language of the conference will be English.

We invite proposals for papers on the following themes:

·	Theory of versification and comparative studies in metrics and rhythmics
·	Frontiers in Indo-European metrics
·	Fenno-Ugric metrics
·	Classical heritage and contemporary poetic culture
·	Semantics of verse

Other proposals for papers that are related to the themes of the  
conference are also welcome.
The estimated time for the speech is 30 minutes (20 minutes for
presentation and 10 minutes for discussion).

Please send your abstract by January 15th, 2008 to
maria.lotman at mail.ee. Please include your contact info and details   with
your abstract (first name, last name, email address,
organization, field of research, address, telephone).

Acceptance will be notified personally via email by February 15th, 2008.

Participation fee: 75 EUR
