"Are you interested in global politics? UN affairs? Acting as a diplomat? Debating? Having fun and meeting new people from all over the world? 
FINMUN 2011 is an international, university-level Model United Nations-conference held 4-9 April, 2011 in Helsinki. 

The conference will bring together students from all over the world to debate and discuss actual global issues and have fun. The conference week will include teambuilding, lectures,cultural events and excursions. The week will highlight in a three-day United Nations Security Council simulation in which the Security Council is asked to solve a reality based conflict. This year the crisis will relate to the Maghreb area in Africa. 

During the FINMUN conference, the participants are given the opportunity to develop their diplomatic skills, learn about the United Nations, develop their understanding of global political questions, deepen their knowledge of the foreign policy of Finland and other countries and also make friends with people from different countries and cultures. 

The application for the conference is now open until 15th of February, 2011. The minimun age limit for FINMUN conference is 18 years. Also, you need to be able to participate in the conference during the entire week, not just the simulation days. The delegate fee for FINMUN 2011 is 90 euro for FinMUN members and 100 euro for non-members. The price includes all the program activities and most of the meals during the week. Note that previous MUN-experience is not a prerequisite, the FINMUN 2011 conference is a great way to start experiencing the MUN world!
