CIMOn kautta voi hakea YK:n apulaisasiantuntijaksi (Junior Professional Officer, JPO) 4–6 kertaa vuodessa. Jokaisessa haussa on 3–10 avointa paikkaa, yhteensä noin 30 joka vuosi. Toimi on yleensä kaksivuotinen.

Ulkoasiainministeriö rahoittaa YK:n apulaisasiantuntijaohjelmaa kehitysyhteistyön määrärahoista. UM valitsee paikat Suomen kehityspoliittisen ohjelman ja YK:n vuosituhattavoitteiden mukaisesti.
Paikkoja voivat hakea ylemmän korkeakoulututkinnon suorittaneet, korkeintaan 32-vuotiaat suomalaiset. Kielitaitovaatimusten lisäksi edellytetään paikkaan sopivaa tutkintoa ja työkokemusta.

Hakukierros 2/2011 päättyy 8.4.2011 klo. 16.15.

General qualifications for all posts:
•The applicant should have Master's degree and at least two years of relevant working experience.
•The applicant should be fluent in English, and have knowledge of another official UN language. 
•Due to the training aspects of the JPO/APO programme the applicant should be no more than 32 years of age. 
•The applicant should have Finnish citizenship (if dual citizenship, applicants with Finnish and U.S. citizenship can´t apply for the posts at The World Bank)

World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF)
Title: Junior Professional Officer in Environmental Services
Sector: Environmental Services
Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Qualifications:
•Master’s degree in Forestry, Ecology, or related field
•Experience in inter-disciplinary research in ecosystem services
•Fluency in various GIS and remote sensing methods and softwares (eg. ArcGIS, QGIS, ENVI, Idrisi)
•Skills in land use modeling and scenario analysis
•Experience in participatory community-based land use analysis and planning
•Knowledge and experience in structuring PES mechanisms



International Organization for Migration (IOM)
Title: Associate Expert, Migration Health Emergency Response (JPO)
Division: Migration Health Division 
Location: Geneva, Switzerland

Qualifications:
•Master’s degree in Medicine, Public Health, and/or other related Social Sciences
•Two years of experience working on international health and migration
•Previous work experience with communicable disease control, HIV/AIDS, and other migration health related issues, research, needs assessments, etc
•Familiarity with project development, monitoring and evaluation is an advantage



Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR)
Title: Associate Expert, Human Rights and Disability (JPO)
Sector: Human Rights and Economic and Social Issues Section
Location: Geneva, Switzerland

Qualifications:
•Master’s degree in Law, Political Science, International Relations or related field
•Relevant academic or work experience in the area of human rights and/or disability would be desirable
•Excellent English writing skills are essential

Title: Associate Professional Officer, Forest Capacity Building and Wood Energy Officer (APO)

Qualifications:
•Master’s degree in Forestry, Environmental Sciences, Economics, or another relevant field
•One or two years of relevant working experience, preferably in an international environment

Qualifications:
•Master’s degree in Social Sciences, preferably with emphasis on global development issues and the international development system
•Knowledge of China's engagement in other developing countries would be highly desirable
•Prior experience of working in China and/or Africa would be a very strong advantage
•Experience of working or living in China, understanding of Chinese society, and ability in Mandarin would be highly advantageous



United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA)
Title: Associate Community Outreach (JPO)
Sector: Operations Support Officers Programme (OSO)
Location: Gaza, Occupied Palestinian territory (oPt)

Qualifications:
•Master’s degree or equivalent in humanitarian affairs, social or political science or related discipline.
•1 to 2 years of relevant work experience in humanitarian affairs, especially being in direct contact with beneficiaries.
•Experience in dissemination of information directly to beneficiaries using e.g. media.
•Knowledge and understanding of the Palestine refugees’ situation in the political context of the Middle East and specifically in the oPt.
•Good command of written and spoken English. Good command of spoken and working knowledge of written Arabic.

Title: Communications and Information Analyst (JPO)

Qualifications:
•Master’s degree in Business Administration, Communications or International Relations
•Academic experience in gender issues and/or international development preferred
•At least two years of relevant professional experience in resource mobilization, communications, advocacy, public relations, and/or donor relations
•Work experience in gender equality issues, particularly in developing countries, preferred
•Outstanding oral and written English communication skills
