What is Intelligence Hunt?
Intelligence Hunt is a project, which brings both the maritime supply chain related business and students, the industry's potential future workforce, together. Intelligence Hunt invites talented students from universities all over Europe, professional mentors with long and wide industry and service experience and matches them with the Case Companies in real business case assignments. The project lasts four months and culminates in the Finals, where the student teams presents their solutions and high-level inspiring industry speakers share their views with the audience.
You will be able to work in international cross-faculty teams using modern ways of communication. You will achieve relevant working experience from the industry, enjoy high quality mentoring during the project, and practical training in project management, teamwork and presenting skills. You will also gain real business connections and career opportunities.
Deliverables for the companies can be compared to pre-studies or feasibility studies with a clear and robust business case. Fresh new ideas and the highest and most modern technological solutions are emphasized throughout the whole project.
Some universities have granted study points for participating the competition. For example, students studying in Turku School of Economics (TSE) may include the Intelligence Hunt related casework within the optional studies in Operations and Supply Chain Management, both at the B.Sc. and M.Sc. levels. Perhaps your university could also support you this way. This is a matter to be discussed with your professor / teacher and your university. During and after the project we can support you in this, if you have been chosen as a Finalist.
"Innovations require an open mindset and brave curious nature. But not only that. Innovations require clear understanding of the customer's business up to the end customer's business, skills to work on the innovation but in a business case framework with a clear understanding that a business plan will eventually be required" Roger Strevens, Wallenius Wilhemsen, Inspiring Speaker Intelligence Hunt 5, Nor-Shipping, 7.6.2019
The competition culminates to the Intelligence Hunt Finals, which take place January 22nd, 2020 in conjunction with the NaviGate2020 Maritime Trade Fair in Turku, Finland. The Finals is a part of the main conference and the programme consists of student teams and Case Company's presentations as well as presentations of high level international inspiring speakers moderated in a dynamic manner by experienced professionals and future talents. At the end of the day the best team will be awarded in a Award Ceremony.
The Case Companies and the Inspiring Speakers will be published one by one starting 1st September 2019. At this stage the following companies have confirmed their participation at the #IntelligenceHunt6 with a case assignment: Meyer Turku, Port of Naantali, Stevena and ESL Shipping.
Get on Board! Apply Now! Join the #IntelligenceHunt6 and challenge yourself, show your talent and knowhow and shine on the stage.
