We are seeking an outstanding and well-motivated post-doctoral or 
post-graduate student (or a student at the final stage of studies) to a 
research project concerning orexin receptor signaling to 
Ca[sup]2+[/sup], lipid messengers and cell plasticity. The project 
utilizes live-cell imaging, biochemical second-messenger and lipid 
assays and molecular and cell biological techniques on cellular model 
systems, and thus schooling and previous experience in such techniques 
is considered a merit.

Orexin receptors are most well-known for their central role in the 
regulation of sleep/wakefulness and appetite in central nervous system, 
but their also display a range of effects in other tissue types. They 
show very wide variety of responses which also makes them an interesting 
model for studies of the signal coupling of G-protein-coupled receptors.
