Urban Transformation in China PhD Scholarship

This PhD scholarship is linked to the ESRC and NSFC (Natural Science Foundation of China) jointly funded research project on Urban Transformation in China: The Re-Making of Chinese Urban Neighbourhoods: Socio-Spatial Transformation and Access to Public Services. 

The successful candidate will join a group of urban researchers from University of Glasgow and Nankai University in Tianjin China. The successful candidate is expected to work on a topic related to spatial and social changes in Chinese cities. 

UK Home/EU and international candidates are eligible to apply. This scholarship is for full-time study only.

Applicants must possess an undergraduate social science, such as geography and urban planning, degree.  Applicants must also possess a postgraduate degree in a relevant subject area, or be on course to complete such a degree in the coming months.

Candidates with both qualitative and quantitative skills (including GIS) and candidates who have produced good quality academic publications are encouraged to apply.
