Dear list members,

the Sino-Nordic Urban Governance for Sustainable Cities Network (UGN) will arrange a PhD course and research workshop 28-31 October 2014 at Fudan University, Shanghai with the theme

"Sustainable City Development: Theories, methods, challenges, and experiences in China and the Nordic countries".

Call for papers is open until May 1st.

The PhD course focuses on environmental and sustainable governance in urban regions in China and the Nordic countries, covering also societal and economic sustainability. 

The Network has funds to cover the local costs in Shanghai, including  accommodation. Furthermore, the Network can provide a 3 000 DKK travel subsidy for PhD candidates from the Nordic countries. PhD students from the University of Turku (UTU) may inquire for additional travel subsidies from the Networks contact person at UTU, Outi Luova.
