Moi,

Nyt kun näitä konferenssimainoksia alkaa pukata, niin tässä yksi harkinnan arvoinen foorumi esitellä kaupunkitutkimusta Euroopassa:
http://www.eura2012.org/

Asumistutkimuksen eurooppalaisia konferensseja on listattu ainakin: http://www.enhr.net/calendar.html
Kaupunkisuunnittelun tutkijoille taas tarjotaan tänä vuonna kohteeksi Turkin Ankaraa: http://www.arber.com.tr/aesop2012.org/index.php/home

Väikkärin tekijöille suosittelen tämän sivun "tykkäämistä" FB:ssä: http://www.facebook.com/rc21.young

Haastan listan lukijat ehdottamaan muita hyviä kaupunkitutkimuksen alan konferensseja Euroopassa ja miksei muuallakin maailmassa.

Subject: HSA CONFERENCE YORK 2012 - HOW IS THE HOUSING SYSTEM COPING?

Apologies for cross posting...

HSA CONFERENCE 2012 - HOW IS THE HOUSING SYSTEM COPING?

WEDNESDAY 18 APRIL - FRIDAY 20 APRIL 2012.

Papers are invited from academics and practitioners in housing and related disciplines for the HSA's 2012 Conference: How is the Housing System Coping?

Economic headwinds, public expenditure cuts, reforms to Housing Benefit and pensions, and ongoing turmoil in the financial markets have all combined to create a very challenging housing market. All tenures are coping with major shake-ups in the way they operate. The new social policy agenda being taken forward by the Coalition government may reinforce social inequality. This conference provides an opportunity to examine the issues facing the component parts of the housing system in the UK and suggest ways of addressing them in the context of the wider social policy arena.

Keynote speakers will focus on a number of themes:

* The impact of the changing socio-economic environment on the housing system

* Political themes which influence the housing system: the "Big Society", localism and devolution

* What future for evidence based policy?

Confirmed speakers include:

* Professor Andrew Beer, Director, Centre for Housing, Urban and Regional Planning, University of Adelaide

* Professor Danny Dorling, University of Sheffield

* Professor Duncan Maclennan, University of St. Andrews

* Alex Morton, Senior Research Fellow, Policy Exchange

* Dr Mike Raco, University College London

* Professor Christine Whitehead, London School of Economics

Offers of papers (a title and 200 word abstract) should be emailed to Ursula McAnulty (u.mcanulty at ulster.ac.uk<mailto:u.mcanulty at ulster.ac.uk>) and Joe Frey (joe.frey at nihe.gov.uk<mailto:joe.frey at nihe.gov.uk>) by Monday 16th January 2012. We welcome papers addressing the conference themes or dealing with any other aspect of housing policy or practice.

Participants should also complete a booking form and register for the conference which can be found here: http://www.york.ac.uk/inst/chp/hsa/conference.htm.
