As a part of the productization summer school, we will arrange two "book
exams" during the summer: /Basics of Usability Evaluation/ (DTEK8043, 3
ECTS) and /Quality Function Deployment /(DTEK8016, 2 ECTS). The courses
are open for everybody and do not require participation in the summer
school.

The first course is supervised by Lecturer Kai K. Kimppa from the Turku
School of Economics. Please see the homepage of the course (
https://moodle.utu.fi/course/view.php?id=3139 ) for more information.
Due to the similar contents of /Basics of Usability Evaluation /and
/Käytettävyys jokapäiväisessä ympäristössämme/ (KOG281) it is not
possible to include both courses in a student's degree.

The second course, /Quality Function Deployment/, is supervised by
Henrik Lagercrantz, Sami Hyrynsalmi and Arho Suominen. Please see the
homepage of the course ( https://moodle.utu.fi/course/view.php?id=3166 )
for more details. The deadline for the course work is the 30th of
September.

The structure of both courses is similar: the course work is a short
paper -- actually no exams are needed. Please see the homepages for
further information.

If you have any questions about the book exams, please do not hesitate
to contact Sami Hyrynsalmi (sthyry at utu.fi). If you have trouble finding
the books, contact the course assistants. A few copies of the books are
available at the local libraries. However, please note the libraries'
exceptional opening hours during the summer. I have understood that also
the subject associations of the department have a few copies of the
course books.

With the best,
-Sami
