Ehdota teemanumeroa vuodelle 2024!

Ennen ja nyt: Historian tietosanomat etsii yhtä tai useampaa teemanumeroa julkaistavaksi vuonna 2024. Teemanumeron aiheeksi käy mikä tahansa aihe, jota käsitellään historiatieteen keinoin. Viimeisimpien teemanumeroiden otsikoita ovat olleet mm.:

 	Monipuolinen Eurooppa
 	Historiallinen elokuva
 	Digitaalinen historiantutkimus
 	Ranskan historia Suomessa 2000-luvulla

Teemanumero koostuu vähintään kuudesta artikkelista, joista osa on referee-arvioituja. Edellä mainittuun lukuun sisältyvät myös katsaukset ja kirja-arviot.

Teemanumeroa voi ehdottaa kahdella tavalla:

 	Kirjoittaja (myöhemmin numeron vieraileva päätoimittaja) laatii teemanumerolle aiheen ja kokoaa ympärilleen kirjoittajajoukon, joka alustavasti sitoutuu kirjoittamaan aiheesta.
 	Teemaa voi ehdottaa päätoimittaja Olli Kleemolalle, minkä jälkeen julkaistaan Call for papers, jolla haetaan teemasta kiinnostuneita kirjoittajia.

Kummassakin tapauksessa laadi enintään yhden liuskan mittainen ideapaperi teemasta ja mainitse, jos numeroon on jo ilmoittautunut kirjoittajia. Lähetä ideapaperi Olli Kleemolalle osoitteeseen owklee at utu.fi viimeistään 31.3.2023.

Propose a theme issue for 2024!

Ennen ja nyt: Historian tietosanomat (translated as Before and Now: History journal) was founded in 2001 as a non-profit history journal that publishes papers of high scholarly merit in three categories: research papers, reflections and essays, and reviews. The official languages of the publication are Finnish and English, but other languages are taken into consideration as well. The publication follows new and emerging research themes in the field of history and neighboring fields.

Publishing in the journal and reading it is completely free of charge, and there is no embargo in place.

The journal is currently looking for theme issues to be published in 2024. Any history-related theme will be considered. These are just some of the previously published issues:

 	Multidimensional Europe
 	Historical cinema
 	The study of digital history
 	History of France in Finland at the beginning of 2000

A theme issue consists of at least six articles of which some are refereed. These also include reflections and essays as well as book reviews.

A theme issue can be proposed in two ways:

 	A writer (who will later act as a visiting editor in chief of the theme issue) drafts a theme for an issue and invites other writers to contribute to the issue.
 	A theme can be proposed to editor in chief Olli Kleemola after which a Call for Papers will be released in order to find writers interested in the theme.

In both cases: Draft an idea paper (maximum length: 1 page) of the theme and mention if there are already writers who have expressed interest in writing to the issue. Please send the idea paper to Olli Kleemola (owklee at utu.fi) at the latest on March 31, 2023.
