Tampereen yliopisto on avoin ja aktiivinen yhteiskunnallisen perinteensä
tunteva yliopisto. Sen profiilissa korostuvat yhteiskunnan ja terveyden
monialainen tutkimus ja opetus. Tampereen yliopistossa on tutkinto-opiskelijoita
noin 16 000 ja henkilökuntaa noin 2 200.

Tampereen yliopisto on ottanut käyttöön vakinaistamispolkujärjestelmän
(tenure track), jolla se täydentää neliportaista uramallia. Tavoitteena on
rekrytoida ja sitouttaa Tampereen yliopistoon akateemiselle uralle
motivoitunutta ja kyvykästä opetus- ja tutkimushenkilöstöä.
Vakinaistamispolulle rekrytoitavalla on mahdollisuus edetä kyseisen tieteenalan
toistaiseksi voimassa olevaan professorin tehtävään.

Yhteiskunta- ja kulttuuritieteiden yksikössä historian tutkinto-ohjelmassa on
haettavana historian yliopistonlehtorin tehtävä viisivuotiskaudeksi.
Tehtävän ala on modernin ajan kansainvälinen historia.

Yliopistonlehtorin tehtävänä on harjoittaa ja ohjata tieteellistä
tutkimustyötä, antaa ja edistää alansa opetusta, seurata tieteen kehitystä
alallaan sekä osallistua yhteiskunnalliseen vuorovaikutukseen ja alansa
kansainväliseen yhteistoimintaan. Yliopistonlehtori antaa opetusta historian
tutkinto-ohjelmassa.

Yliopistonlehtorin tehtävään valittavalta edellytetään soveltuvaa tohtorin
tutkintoa, näyttöjä itsenäisestä tieteellisestä tutkimustyöstä ja kykyä
antaa korkeatasoista tutkimukseen perustuvaa opetusta.

Tehtäväkohtainen palkkaus määräytyy yliopistojen palkkausjärjestelmän
opetus- ja tutkimushenkilöstön vaativuuskartan tason 6 mukaisesti. Lisäksi
maksetaan henkilökohtaiseen suoriutumiseen perustuva palkanosaa, joka on
enintään 46,3 % tehtäväkohtaisesta palkanosasta.

Tehtävässä on neljän kuukauden koeaika.

Tampereen yliopiston rehtorille osoitettu hakemus tulee jättää viimeistään
16.10.2014 klo 15.45 yliopiston sähköisellä hakulomakkeella (linkki alla).

Hakemukseen tulee liittää ansioluettelo, julkaisuluettelo, selvitys
opetusansioista, tutkimussuunnitelma sekä luettelo enintään viidestä (5)
julkaisusta, jotka hakija haluaa otettavan huomioon mahdollisessa
asiantuntija-arvioinnissa. Julkaisut pyydetään toimittamaan myöhemmin

University lecturer in history (tenure track)

The University of Tampere in Finland is an open and active university that is
conscious of its social roots. Its profile accentuates the university’s
multifaceted research and education on society and health. There are about
16,000 degree students and 2,200 staff at the University of Tampere.

The university has implemented a tenure track system and uses it to complement
the four-stage research career model. The aim is to recruit and commit motivated
and skilled teaching and research staff to an academic career at the University
of Tampere. A person recruited in the tenure track has the opportunity to
advance to the position of a professor in her or his field of science. The
professor’s post in for an indefinite period of time.

Applications are now invited for a tenure track appointment to a university
lecturership in history in the Degree Programme in History at the School of
Social Sciences and Humanities. The field of the task is international history
in the modern era. The successful applicant will be appointed for a fixed term
of five years.

The job of the university lecturer is to carry out and supervise scientific
research, to provide and promote instruction in her or his own field, to keep
track of the developments in her or his field of science and to participate in
the interaction with society and international cooperation in the field. The
university lecturer is expected to teach in the Degree Programme in History. The
language of teaching can also be English.

A person appointed university lecturer must hold an appropriate doctoral degree,
a track record of independent scientific research and the ability to provide
high-quality, research-based instruction.

The remuneration of the post is based on the level 6 of the job-related salary
element for teaching and research personnel in the salary system of the Finnish
universities, at present EUR 3313 per month. In addition, a personal salary
element based on personal performance is paid, which is at most 46,3 % of the
job-related salary element. Applications should be addressed to the Rector of

account of teaching merits, a research plan and a list of at the most five (5)
publications which the applicant wishes to submit for consideration in the
