The Nordic Centre is a joint venture between Fudan University and 27 Nordic universities and research institutions, established to facilitate research cooperation, student exchange and collaboration with Shanghai- based Nordic companies and national representations. The Nordic Centre is located at Fudan University in Shanghai. The Centre is a key collaboration platform for its Nordic member universities and leading Chinese universities – with Fudan University as its natural base.
 The position as Programme Manager in Shanghai is available from mid February 2013. The Programme Manager acts as an important link between the Nordic Universities, Fudan and other universities in the region. The daily activities of the Programme Manager consist of managing a diversified Sino-Nordic research and education platform in collaboration with the Fudan Foreign Affairs Office. In addition, the Programme Manager also maintains and develops links between the Centre and the Nordic community in Shanghai. The overall strategic decision-making of the Nordic Centre rests with the Nordic Centre Council, which meets twice a year. The Nordic Centre secretariat placed at Aalborg University, Denmark, is the link between the Council and the Programme Manager. Duties and responsibilities.
 The primary assignments of the Programme Manager are:

To initiate, develop and coordinate cooperation between the Nordic members and Chinese universities
To promote and support research and education projects
To develop and organize the various activities of the Nordic Centre such as conferences, seminars and workshops
To support guest researchers and students from member universitiesto link to the Nordic community in the Shanghai region
To manage and develop the Nordic Centre office and library
To be responsible for the administration of the Nordic Centre finances
To handle the budgeting and accounting in cooperation with the secretariat at Aalborg University, Denmark

Qualifications
 A qualified candidate has:

A Master’s degree from a Nordic university
Experience of working in higher education collaboration
Excellent communication skills
Experience in coordinating events and activities
Experience in financial project management
Documented proficiency in Chinese and English
Work or study experience from China is a major advantage but not a requirement.
The applicant should be a dynamic, self-reliant and enterprising person with excellent cooperation skills who can work independently with a broad range of tasks

Appointment and salary according to the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) on Academics in the State. The official place of employment will be Aalborg University, Denmark. Expatriation allowances for travel and relocation expenses etc. are to be negotiated.
