Three Chair vacancies at the History and Civilisation Dept. of the
European University Institute

* A Chair in Early Modern History of Europe

The successful candidate is expected to have a broad range of
experience in the history of Europe in a comparative and
transnational perspective. Preference will be given to candidates
interested in the Atlantic dimension of European History in the early
modern era.
 
* Chair in 19th and 20th Century History

Preference will be given to candidates whose work focuses on the
history of Eastern Europe and/or Russia in a wider Eurasian and
global context. Applications will be welcome from scholars with an
interest in political, economic and social history.
 
* Mikhail M. Bakhtin Chair in Russia-Europe Relations

Preference will be given to candidates with a broad knowledge of the
historical interconnections between Europe and Russia up to the
present, with special emphasis on the role of culture


The submission date for applications for both chairs is 30 September
