Ah, my bad. Note to self: a byte is eight bits... ;-)

Well, I managed to duplicate the problem, it seems that there's
something wrong in the bloom filter setup in the code. I'll have to
examine it more...

So, for now you are left with the workarounds of playing with
number_buffers and rotate_interval.
