This file contains any messages produced by compilers while
running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake.

It was created by gross configure 1.0.1, which was
generated by GNU Autoconf 2.61. Invocation command line was

You know what? I see it now. It must be that here:
---
LDFLAGS='-Wl,-O1 -Wl,--add-needed -Wl,--as-needed -Wl,--hash-style=both -Wl,--sort-common -L/usr/local/lib'
---

Let me check to filter "-Wl,--add-needed" and "-Wl,--as-needed" out of the LDFLAGS and look if that works.

...

No. That did not work. Let me try to just remove the "-Wl,--as-needed".

...

YES! That works! I can compile GROSS. Just had to inherit "flag-o-matic" and add "filter-ldflags -Wl,--as-needed" before the configure command into my ebuild and things work now. Sorry for the noise.

If some one is interested in a Gentoo ebuild then let me know.
