CFP: Saami Literature - the Saami in Literature 
 
AVAIN, Journal of the Finnish Literary Research Society, invites contributions to a special issue (4/2015) addressing a general theme of Saami literature. 

The issue seeks to interrogate the concept of Saami literature and the way the Saami have been represented in literature so far. The possible topics are the notion and definition(s) of Saami literature, constructions, deconstructions and reconstructions of the Saami identity in literature, reflections on theoretical and methodological approaches to Saami literature, issues connected with literary institutions and literary history in conjunction with the Saami, issues of authorship, gender, generations, genres, folk tradition and language in Saami literature, interart perspectives on Saami literature, literary representations of the Saami. 

The deadline for abstracts (ca. half a page characteristics of the contribution) is 30 September 2014, the deadline for the contribution itself is 28 February 2015.
