Ved Universitetet i Tromsø, Fakultet for humaniora, samfunnsvitenskap og lærerutdanning er det ledig stilling som postdoktor. Stillingen er tilknyttet Institutt for kultur og litteratur og forskningsgruppen Border Culture.

Dette postdoktorprosjektet innenfor grensens kultur og estetikk skal i hovedsak dreie seg om hvordan grensebegrep og grensesymbolikk utvikles i forbindelse med estetiske prosesser og objekter. Prosjektet skal fokusere på den rollen som forskjellige former for estetisk praksis spiller i romlige og sosiale grenseprosesser. Det kan også vurdere rollen som tekstuelle, visuelle eller andre mediale grenser/overganger/overskridelser spiller i teoretisk og praktisk analyse. Prosjektet vil kunne ta opp spesifikke internasjonale, regionale eller urbane sammenhenger, bestemte narrativer om grensekryssing eller grenseopprettholdelse, og utvalgte former eller verk innenfor litteratur, film, media, kunst, utøvende kunst, festivaler og/eller design. Prosjektet kan også fokusere på sentrale forandringer i kodingen av rom og tid innenfor litterær/kunstnerisk/medial form og presentasjon, med et fokus på grenser. Et kjønns-, minoritets- eller urbefolkningsperspektiv er særlig velkommen, eller også et fokus på kulturens betydning for samfunnet. Prosjektet vil inngå i eller komplementere pågående arbeid omkring grensefortellinger og grensens estetikk innenfor forskningsgruppen Border Culture.

The University of Tromsø, Faculty of Humanities, Social Sciences and Education, has a Postdoctoral Fellow position vacant. The position is attached to the Department of Culture and Literature and the research group Border Culture.

A post-doctoral project within the culture and aesthetics of the border would examine how border concepts and border symbolism are developed in relation to aesthetic processes and objects. The project would focus on the role of aesthetic practices in spatial and social bordering processes and at the same time might consider the role of textual, visual or other medial borders/transitions/transgressions in theoretical and practical analysis. The project could concentrate on specific international, regional or urban contexts, on narratives of the maintenance and crossing of borders, and on selected forms or works of literature, film, media, art, performance, festivals, or design. It could focus on central changes in the encoding of time and space in literary/artistic/medial form and presentation, with a focus on borders. A gender, minority or indigenous perspective is especially welcome, as is a focus on the role of culture in society. The project will form part of, or complement, existing work on border narratives and aesthetics within the "Border Culture" research group.
