Viimeinen pisara on yhdistyksen korkein kunnianosoitus, joka jaetaan vuosittain enintään yhdelle henkilölle. Viimeinen pisara on saunakiulu, jonka kyljessä on kunnianosoituksen saaneiden nimet. Se jaetaan Pikkujouluilla juomalla täytettynä, minkä lisäksi saajalle
annetaan kullattu kiulunmuotoinen ansiomerkki. <br>

Viimeisen pisaran saajaa voi ehdottaa <strong>30.11.2025 klo 23.59</strong> asti. Palkinto tullaan jakamaan 18.12. Pikkujouluilla. Ilmoittautuminen pikkujouluille kilahtaa sähköpostiin myöhemmin. <em>Viimeistä pisaraa ei voida myöntää istuvan hallituksen jäsenelle.</em><br>

kerroksessa. Kokoushuoneeseen pääsee nousemalla infotiskin puoleisilla hisseillä 8. kerrokseen ja kiertää hissien taakse. Liitteenä on myös kartta kokoushuoneen sijainnista. </span></span><br>

verkostoitumiseen synteettisen biologian alalla, ja sieltä onkin ponnistanut jo yli 250 startupia! Kisa huipentuu suureen Grand Jamboree -tapahtumaan Pariisissa syksyllä 2026!</font><br>

<strong><font color="#434343">Mistä projektissa on kyse? </font></strong><br>

<font color="black">Projekti kestää noin 10 kuukautta ja on alusta loppuun opiskelijoiden suunnittelema ja toteuttama. Keskiössä on synteettisen biologian tutkimus, mutta joukkueella on vapaus ohjata ja valita projektille suunta, jossa korostuu joukkueen omat
vahvuudet ja mielenkiinnot. Yleisiin tehtäviin sisältyy esimerkiksi johtaminen, tieteellisen kirjallisuuden tutkiminen, laboratoriotyön suunnittelu ja toteutus, projektiwikin koodaus, yhteiskunnallisen merkittävyyden ja vastuullisuuden tarkastelu sidosryhmien
kautta, sosiaalisen median viestintä, esitysvideoiden tuottaminen, varainkeruu ja esiintyminen. </font><br>

<font color="black">Projektiaiheita löytyy kattavasti niin lääketieteen, ympäristönsuojelun ja biotuotannon kuin ohjelmistokehityksen ja elintarvikekehityksenkin alueilta — kunhan ratkaisun löytää synteettisestä biologiasta! Aiempina vuosina ABOA joukkueet

<font color="black">iGEM or the International Genetically Engineered Machine is the world’s largest synthetic biology innovation competition with over 400 participating teams from over 50 countries worldwide annually. iGEM offers an exceptional opportunity
to build your network in the synthetic biology field, and over 250 start-ups have already emerged from the competition! The competition culminates in the Grand Jamboree in Paris, in the autumn of 2026!</font><br>

<strong><font color="#434343">What is the project about?</font></strong><br>
<font color="black">The project lasts about 10 months and is planned and carried out by students from the very beginning. The focus is on synthetic biology research but the team has the freedom to choose the direction the project takes and to adapt it based
on your strengths and interests. The general tasks include for example leadership, scientific literature research, planning and conducting the laboratory work, coding the project wiki, studying social impact and responsibility through stakeholder engagement,
social media marketing, fundraising, producing presentation videos and presenting.</font><br>

<font color="black">Possible project topics range wide from medical, environmental, and bioindustrial topics all the way to software development, and the food industry — as long as you can come up with a solution through synthetic biology! Previous ABOA teams
have for example purified water with cyanobacteria, produced vitamins for space travel in </font><font color="black"><em>E. coli,</em></font><font color="black"> and most recently the ABOA 2025 team developed a diagnostic tool for bloodstain age determination
for crime investigation. PET-keskuksessa Turun yliopistollisessa keskussairaalassa.<br>

Tutkimukseen sisältyy seulontakäynti, yksi PET-kuvaus ja yksi magneettikuvantaminen (fMRI). PET-kuvauksessa osallistuja katselee sekä tunteita herättäviä ja neutraaleja elokuvakohtauksia samalla, kun aivojen toimintaa mitataan. Magneettikuvantamisen aikana
osallistuja kuuntelee musiikkia ja katselee näytteitä elokuvista. Tutkimus on osa Suomen Akatemian rahoittamaa Human Emotion Systems Laboratory -tutkimusyksikön hanketta.<br>
