Ihanaa lauantaita kaikki (bio)kemistit ja kemistinmieliset, sekä erityisesti meidän upeat uudet piltit! Lauantailätinät ovat palanneet keskuuteemme, ja nyt onkin oivallinen hetki selittää hieman pilteille, mitä ne oikein ovat.<br>

Lauantailätinöihin pyrin kokoamaan kaikki viikon aikana tulleet tärkeät TYK ry:n hallituksen lähettämät sähköpostit, sekä muuta (bio)kemisteihin tai opiskelijoihin liittyvää yleistä infoa. Lauantailätinöissä on myös seuraavan viikon aikatauluja, listalla mm.

 TYK ry:n tapahtumia, hallituksen seuraava kokous ja muita (bio)kemisteille tai yleisesti opiskelijoille olennaisia tärppejä. Lauantailätinöiden pituus vaihtelee ja tällä kertaa se taitaakin ylettyä pituudellaan maapallon ympäri ainakin kolme ja puoli kierrosta.

 (Sorry not sorry.) Lätinöiden loppuun on perinteen mukaisesti liitetty jokin hauska (tai vähemmän hauska) loppukevennys. Tämä riittänee avaamaan lauantailätinöiden tarkoitusta. :)<br>

Tämä viikko onkin vietetty orientaatioviikon tunnelmissa, mikä varmasti tuntuu jalkapohjissa tykyttävänä kipuna ja mielessä sumuisena väsymyksenä. Tai sitten kuvailen vain omia tuntemuksiani. Viikko oli hyvin antoisa ja täynnä kaikenlaisia mieleenpainuvia kommelluksia.

 Kokonaisuudessaan orientaatioviikko oli jälleen kerran täynnä innokkuutta, yhteisöllisyyttä ja ihanaa tunnelmaa. Siitä saammekin kiittää hallitusta, tuutoreita, pilttejä ja erityisesti piltti- ja tuutorivastaavaamme Akia! <br>

Taitaa riittää Nannan yappaaminen, rentoa viikonloppua ja toivottavasti nähdään huomisessa Pride-kulkueessa (jaksavien sielujen) kanssa!<br>

Tiedekuntajärjestö Hybridi järjestää perinteiset kastajaisensa kaikille matemaattis-luonnontieteellisen tiedekunnan, teknillisen tiedekunnan sekä biolääketieteen uusille opiskelijoille keskiviikkona 3.9.! Kastajaisissa kierretään hauskoja tehtävärasteja joukkueissa.

 Rasteja pitävät eri ainejärjestöt sekä muut tärkeät opiskelijaelämään kuuluvat järjestöt. Ryhmät jaetaan poikkitieteellisesti eri alojen kesken, joten pääset tutustumaan myös opiskelijoihin oman alasi ulkopuolelta!<br>

Ensisijaisesti ilmoittaudu lomakkeen kautta, näin saamme ryhmäjaotkin tehtyä helpommin. Mikäli et ilmoittautunut, mutta mielesi muuttuu olet silti tervetullut mukaan! Jos sinulta puuttuu lähtöaika, suosittelemme ensimmäiseen lähtöön (16:30) saapumista, mutta

Kastajaisiin osallistuminen maksaa 3,00 € ja osallistuminen maksetaan ennen rasteille lähtöä Kortilla tai Käteisellä (TASARAHALLA), minkä takia on tärkeää saapua ajoissa. Saapuessasi paikalle sinut ohjataan ensin ilmoittautumispöydälle, jossa suoritat maksun.

Taas on tullut aika vuoden ensimmäisille sitseille eli Pilttisitseille, jossa opetamme ihanat uudet opiskelijamme sitsaamisen jaloon taitoon! <3 <br>

"Sitsit ovat akateeminen pöytäjuhla, jossa opiskelijat kokoontuvat syömään, laulamaan juomalauluja ja nauttimaan seurasta perinteisten sääntöjen ja huumorin siivittämänä" - ChatGPT. <br>

Vuoden ensimmäiset sitsit järjestetään siis 17.9. Q-talolla (Nummenpuistokatu 2, 20540 Turku) kello 18.00 alkaen. Ovet avautuvat kuitenkin jo 17.30, eli saavuthan ajoissa! Erillistä teemaa sitseillä ei ole,

 mutta pukukoodina toimii smart casual. Tänä vuonna hintaa sitseillä on 11 €.<br>

Sitseillä nautitaan laadukkaasta (halvasta) kolmen ruokalajin illallisesta, johon jokaisen ruokalajin kylkeen kuuluu yksi shotti. Muuten käytäntönä<strong> OPM</strong> eli oma pullo mukaan. Kannattaa siis syödä jotain ennen ja jättää aloittelu välistä :) Suosittelemme

 pilttejä osallistumaan saman viikon maanantaina 15.9. järjestettävään sitsikoulutukseen, jossa sääntöjä ja käytäntöjä käydään perusteellisesti läpi!<br>

<span style="font-size:14px"><span style="font-family:arial,helvetica neue,helvetica,sans-serif">FinPolar-yhdistyksen mentorointiohjelmassa tuemme noin kahdeksaa maahanmuuttajataustaista lukiolaista. Nämä nuoret muuttivat Turkista Suomeen 5–6 vuotta sitten

 ja aloittivat lukion. Vaikka he ovat oppineet suomea nopeasti, he kokevat oppimisessa haasteita, erityisesti matematiikassa.<br>

Siksi suunnittelemme kerran viikossa 1–2 tunnin matematiikan tukiryhmiä. Yliopisto-opiskelijoiden vapaaehtoinen apu on meille arvokasta. Tämä tuki ei ainoastaan vahvista nuorten koulumenestystä, vaan antaa heille myös toivoa tulevaisuuteen. Yhdessä voimme tukea

 heidän koulutuspolkuaan ja auttaa heitä saavuttamaan potentiaalinsa.<br>

For the audition, please prepare a short unaccompanied song — for example, any folk song or children’s song you know well. During the audition, a distinguished yet friendly jury will listen to your chosen piece and determine your vocal range through a few simple

You are also warmly invited to come and experience our real rehearsals in a relaxed atmosphere on either Thursday, September 4th, or Thursday, September 11th, starting at 5:50 pm in the Aava Hall at Arcanum.<br>

Sohon Torwet on Turun yliopistolla toimiva puhallinorkesteri. Treenaamme joka tiistai kello 18.30 alkaen Osakuntasalissa (Rehtorinpellonkatu 4 Yo-talo B) Torwissa soittaa opiskelijoita Turun yliopiston lisäksi kaikista muista Turun korkeakouluista, sekä jo

 valmistuneita. Mukaan saa lähteä matalalla kynnyksellä, vaikka esim soittoharrastuksessa olisi ollut taukoa ja haluaa herätellä sitä uudelleen. Taitotasolla ei ole väliä, pääasia on halu päästä soittamaan!<br>

Torwien keikoilla kuulee useimmiten perinteistä tanssimusiikkia, jazzia ja iskelmää, mutta vuotuisissa kevätkonserteissa on repertuaarissa myös haastavampaa materiaalia niin klassiselta puolelta kuin popin ja rockin maailmasta.<br>

Sohon Torwet is a wind orchestra operating at the University of Turku. We rehearse every Tuesday starting at 6:30 pm in the Osakuntasali (Rehtorinpellonkatu 4, Yo-taloB). Our members include students not only from the University of Turku but also from all other

 higher education institutions in Turku, as well as alumni. All skill levels are welcome, the most important thing is that you want to play!<br>

At Torwet's gigs, you’ll most often hear traditional dance music, jazz, and Finnish pop, but our annual spring concerts also feature more challenging pieces from classical music to pop and rock.<br>

Beer Pong Turku ry järjestää kaikille Turun uusille korkeakouluopiskelijoille Beer pong -turnauksen. Turnaus pidetään Osakuntasalissa keskiviikkona 17.9. ja se on avoin kaikille!<br>

Beer pong on heittolaji, jossa kahden pelaajan joukkueet kisaavat toisiaan vastaan siitä, kumpi osuu ensimmäisenä kaikkiin kuppeihin. Turnauksessa alkoholijuoman nauttiminen on täysin vapaaehtoista, mutta turnaukseen voit tunnelmaa luomaan varata itsellesi

 yhden 0,33 L juoman / peli (toteutuneiden pelien määrä riippuu turnausmenestyksestä; Osakuntasalin läheisyydessä on kauppa).<br>

Koska turnaus on tarkoitettu uusille opiskelijoille, tulee jokaisessa joukkueessa olla vähintään yksi tänä syksynä turkulaisessa korkeakoulussa opintonsa aloittava pelaaja. Turnaukseen mahtuu ensimmäiset 18 joukkuetta, joten paikkoja on rajoitetusti. Turnaus

Welcome new Students!<br>

Beer Pong Turku ry is organizing a beer pong tournament for all new university students in Turku. The tournament will be held at Osakuntasali on Wednesday, September 17th, and it’s open to everyone!<br>

<br>

Beer pong is a throwing game where teams of two players compete to see who can hit all the cups first. Drinking alcohol during the tournament is completely optional, but for the atmosphere you may bring one 0.33 L drink per game (the number of games depends

 on your tournament success; there’s a store near Osakuntasali).<br>

<br>

Since the tournament is intended for new students, each team must include at least one player who has started their studies at a college/university/polytehnic in Turku this fall. The tournament is limited to the first 18 teams, so spots are limited. The tournament

 will be played according to the World series of beer pong rules, which you can read at: <br>
