<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Pro </strong><strong>Gradu</strong><strong> -tutkielman paikka Turun Yliopiston Biolääketieteen laitoksella</strong></p>

</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Haetaan Pro-gradu-tutkielman tekijää Biolääketieteen laitokselle Suolistomikrobisto- ja Resistenssi tutkimusryhmään. Gradutyö tehdään osana Antti Hakasen johtamaa MAPPAC projektia, jossa tutkitaan akuutin umpilisäketulehduksen
mikrobiologista etiologiaa sekä mikrobilääkehoidon vaikutusta suoliston mikrobistoon. Aiempi kokemus laboratoriotyöskentelystä ja etenkin mikrobiologisista menetelmistä on eduksi. Opiskelijalta edellytämme innokkuutta ja korkeaa motivaatiota tehdä tutkimusta.
Tutkimuksessa käytetään laajasti mikrobiologisia menetelmiä (mm. perinteinen bakteeriviljely, bakteerien identifiointi MALDI-TOF massaspektrometrilla, antibioottiherkkyysmääritykset ja PCR). Opiskelijan oma kiinnostus vaikuttaa projektin suuntaan. Työ suoritetaan
Lääketieteellisellä Mikrobiologialla ja Immunologialla, Mikro-rakennuksessa (Kiinamyllynkatu). Tutkimustyö alkaa sopimuksen mukaan syksyn aikana ja paikka täytetään heti sopivan ehdokkaan löydyttyä.<br>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Gut microbiota and Resistance group is looking for a student to Master Thesis project. Work will be performed in project studying the Microbiological etiology and the effects of antimicrobial treatment on gut microbiota in acute
appendicitis (pi Antti Hakanen). Previous experience in laboratory work especially in microbiological methods is an advantage. The candidate should be highly motivated and committed to do research. Different microbiological methods (traditional culturing,
bacterial identification with MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry, antimicrobial susceptibility testing and PCR) are widely used during the study and students own interest affects project direction. The work is carried out at the department of Medical Microbiology
and Immunology in Mikro building (Kiinamyllynkatu). Starting time is negotiable (preferably during this autumn) and the position will be filled as soon as suitable candidate is found.
