Biokemian laitoksella. Projektin tavoitteena on selvittää yksityiskohtaisten molekulaaristen mekanismien tasolla, miten ribosomaalisten RNA-molekyylien valmistamiseen erikoistunut RNA-polymeraasi I (Pol I) aloittaa RNA:n tuottamisen. Tämän monimutkaisen molekyylitason
tapahtumasarjan ymmärtämiseksi käytämme molekyylibiologiaan, biokemiaan ja biofysiikkaan perustuvia tutkimusmenetelmiä. Motiivinamme on ymmärtää, miten Pol I -geeniluentakoneisto reagoi ympäristön signaaleihin ja miten solu sen toimintaa säätelee. Pol I:n
