The applicant should propose a project dealing with material
religion or religion of place with a focus on power, networks
and sacrality. The successful candidate should have an
interdisciplinary approach in their research and should
demonstrate their capability to teach in at least one of the
disciplines of archaeology, history, or religious studies. The
candidate should in particular demonstrate their expertise in
using theories from the field of religious studies.<br>
<br>
The proposed project should fall within the period from the
Hellenistic period to Late Antiquity. Geographically, the
project should be centred around the Mediterranean and Ancient
Near East. The project should include at least one of the
religious and cultural centres of Rome, Alexandria, and Antioch
and their role in the creation of sacred spaces.<br>
